Slide and Roll System for Rutec

Overview

A low cost slide rail system to give better usage of Rutec ballistic curtain, a typical installation would be as follows;

Based on a 5mtr wide wall to wall indoor range x 2.2mtr high. [We can go wider by using a 3 or even 4 wire system]

Our material width is 1.4mtr so we would use 4 curtains to give 200mm approx overlaps which will give greater usage and flexibility of the curtains.

We would use 3mm Rutec x 1.4mtr wide x 4.4mtr [approximately 2.2 mtr drop] to give a 6mm overall thickness for the bullet to penetrate.

2 suspended wire runners would be attached to either side of your range, each runner would have adjustment by way of a bottle screw at one side to enable tension to be applied to the wire runner. [We would need to check the suitability of the structure to ensure that they are capable of carrying the curtain load]. Rear runner would carry 2 curtains and front runner would also carry 2 curtains.

The curtains would be attached to the runners via a metal/plastic rolling tubes as shown in the photographs, this allows for vertical adjustment of the curtain, horizontal movement is catered for by moving the curtains along the wire runners. This gives the user total flexibility in positioning of the curtains to give maximum usage of the anti splash back curtain rather than the usual concentration targeting when a fixed system is used.

The above is a “basic” system developed in Germany at a budget cost aimed for private shooting clubs, many of them have purchased the  curtains from ourselves and because of the simple nature of the system have purchased the fixings, wire runners and poles and using their own members DIY skills have installed themselves.
